Case Study — Hospitality

Petal
Lounge

A hospitality lounge wrapped in a continuous petal-geometric relief — soft, repeating bloom forms cast in Lumina PMAG™ and finished by hand.

The Brief

A wall that
breathes.

The space called for a feature wall that could carry a long, low lounge without overwhelming it — presence at a glance, quiet on closer reading. The design intent was botanical but disciplined: a petal motif abstracted into geometry, repeating cleanly across the run while reading as a single continuous bloom.

The surface needed real depth — light and shadow doing the decorative work, not print or applied ornament — while holding a seamless rhythm across panel joints so the eye never caught a seam.

The Material

Lumina
PMAG™

Lumina PMAG™ — our polymer-modified architectural gypsum — was the natural fit for an interior relief of this scale. It captures fine petal edges and crisp geometric transitions with mineral sharpness, and renders soft, matte shadow that flatters layered, organic forms.

As a cast mineral surface it stays dimensionally stable across a large feature wall, takes an artisan finish in any colour direction, and keeps panel weight manageable for straightforward interior mounting.

The Process

  1. Design & Modelling

The petal motif was developed into a parametric 3D relief, tuned so the pattern tiles seamlessly across panels and resolves cleanly at the edges of the run.

  2. Moulding & Casting

A master mould was produced from the digital model and replicated in silicone, then Lumina PMAG™ panels were cast under controlled conditions for consistent depth and surface across the set.

  3. Artisan Finish

Each panel received a hand-applied artisan finish — a soft, even tone that lets the relief read through light and shadow rather than colour contrast.

The Result — A continuous petal-geometric relief that carries the full length of the lounge, its depth shifting with the room's light through the day.
